4th Dubai International Parachuting Championships: UAE pick up second gold medal

The UAE picked up their second gold medal as most of the competitions drew to a close at the 4th Dubai International Parachuting Championships at Skydive Dubai on Saturday. After taking the gold medal in the four-way vertical formation skydiving (VFS) on Thursday, the UAE squad went into the eighth and final round of the eight-way VFS tied with Monaco and Russia chasing them in third place. Skydive Dubai Nexus hit gold for UAE

The Skydive Dubai Nexus team picked up the UAE’s first gold medal at the 4th Dubai International Parachuting Championships (DIPC), winning the four-way Vertical Formation Skydiving (VFS) event yesterday. The Nexus team, which was formed by a group of Dubai-based expatriates three years ago, scored 211 points in the mandatory eight rounds of jumps to take top honours at Skydive Dubai. The team is made up of Stephanie Strange, Tim McMaster, Derek Cox, Jason Russell and Kenneth Jaworski as alternate, along with cameraman Earl David. France crowned champions in Freestyle Skydiving

France were crowned champions in the Freestyle Skydiving event that concluded on Tuesday at the 4th Dubai International Parachuting Championship (DIPC) being held at Skydive Dubai. The French team, represented by Will Penny, completed the seven jumps with a cumulative score of 63.4 points, way ahead of Finland’s 50.4, while Venezuela came in third after nipping the US by just 1.3 points. Photo exhibit at DIPC traces history of parachuting

Three of the founding fathers of parachuting in Dubai threw open an exhibition of rare photographs to mark the 42nd UAE National Day celebrations on the sidelines of the 4th Dubai International Parachuting Championship (DIPC) at Skydive Dubai. Red Arrows to perform at Skydive Dubai on Monday

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, will conduct a spectacular display to celebrate UAE National Day at Skydive Dubai on Monday. The world-famous team is scheduled to perform at 4.30pm on Monday to coincide with the 4th Dubai International Parachuting Championship (DIPC). Monday’s display will be the final one from the Red Arrows for this year as part of its major tour of the Middle East. Dubai: More than 1,500 jumpers from 43 countries have confirmed their entry for the Fourth Dubai International Parachuting Championship (DIPC) to be held at Sky Dive Dubai from November 27 to December 10. Held for the fourth straight year under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman, Dubai Sports Council (DSC), this year’s championship will have a total prize fund in excess of Dh1.5 million for the top finishers. “Since the first edition we have always strived to host the best.
